David Freeman – 25+ years of Student Housing Experience

Mr. Freeman is currently the Principal of DFFusion Investments.

 

Prior to founding DFFusion Mr. Freeman was the Executive Vice President of Acquisitions for Campus Crest Communities (NYSE – CCG), a publicly traded student housing REIT headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since joining Campus Crest Mr. Freeman has been involved in acquisitions of student housing properties and portfolios throughout the United States and the UK.  Mr. Freeman served as the president of Glenwood Intermountain Properties and Glenwood Student Communities since it was founded in 1987. Previously, Mr. Freeman was the National Director of Lending for Equitec Financial Group, a publicly traded finance and real estate investment company. Mr. Freeman started his career in real estate as a property manager of a 1,152 bed single student housing complex adjacent to Brigham Young University for 3 years while he was a student. Upon graduation, Mr. Freeman went to work for Equitec Financial Group, Inc. in the commercial mortgage lending division headquartered in Oakland, CA. In late 1986, Mr. Freeman chose to leave Equitec to found his own real estate investment firm. In 1987, Mr. Freeman purchased Pineview apartments in partnership with Glenwood Financial and subsequently formed Glenwood Intermountain Properties.

 

Over the past 26+ years, Mr. Freeman as an owner and operator has overseen the acquisition, development, renovation, financing, and management of over $80 million of student housing assets while at GSC. In 2011, Mr. Freeman joined Campus Crest Communities, as the EVP of Acquisitions.  And in less than 2 years was involved in the acquisition of over 40 properties.   Mr. Freeman served on the founding advisory board of Property Solutions, an award winning, high-tech, property management, web portal and on-line payment software / service provider.  Mr. Freeman has a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Brigham Young University.
